Indian Trails Pool closes for season on Sept. 1
Lenexa's pool season ends when Indian Trails Aquatic Center closes on Monday, Sept. 1. Make sure to get in a few final swims before fall arrives! Pool hours
 
Spinach Festival is Sept. 6
Bring your family and friends to Sar-Ko-Par Trails Park on Sept. 6 to celebrate the 31st Annual Lenexa Spinach Festival. Gates will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and admission is $1 (free for kids under 13). Activities include music, craft and art booths, lots of children's activities, a spinach recipe contest (with $100 prizes in four categories) and more. Free parking and shuttle service are available at City Hall and the southeast corner of 95th Street and Lackman Road. Event details

All aboard the Art Trolley Tour on Sept. 12
The Lenexa Arts Council and Lenexa Chamber of Commerce will host an evening of art on the town Friday, Sept. 12, from 6:30-9 p.m. Join us for the first trolley tour across Lenexa to view art and enjoy receptions at three locations. Artists will be on hand to visit with guests and discuss their work. Cost is $15 per person. Trolley seating is limited, so register soon. Event details and registration

Google starts next phase of fiber installation
Google has nearly finished constructing the backbone of its fiber network in Lenexa to provide high-speed Internet access and cable TV. Phase two work is beginning, which entails installing distribution fiber lines in the city right of way.
